Year after year, our office has performed hundreds of breast augmentations with each having it’s own unique experience and personal result. What education and training did you receive to a board certified plastic surgeon?

Plastic surgeons have to undergo years of schooling at an undergraduate university and then in medical school. At each step, they have to perform well so they can continue to advance and obtain additional training. Typically, this takes about 8 years and that’s before starting residency. Residency is the most important learning period is a surgeon’s life. This is when most doctors begin to learn how to take care of patients and also learn how to perform operations. Residency is very demanding and challenging. Only those at the top of their class continue in their training and get the opportunity to finish. In total, residency for Dr. Aldo was a total of 6 years, which included 2 years of extensive plastic surgery training. A fully trained plastic surgeon must then passed a series of rigorous examinations to prove competency to finally become board certified.

Which breast implant do you recommend?

Our best recommendation comes after we know a patient’s goals including the desired breast cup, shape, and the amount of cleavage. We then perform a very careful analysis of the patient’s anatomy including identification of any asymmetry, breast volume and skin elasticity. All these factors are then considered into formulating a recommendation for a particular breast implant type (silicone breast implants or saline breast implants) and then a choice from the different shapes like high profile, moderate and moderate plus, MM, MM+, MH, TM+ and LM+. To give some perspective, in the last 2 years over 90 percent of breast implants placed have been silicone.
